The South West Coast Path

"With The Sea On Our Right"

The The South West Coast Path is a 7 day and 8 night walking holiday is for those people with a real sense of fun and adventure. It involves an invigorating walk along the rugged cliff tops and remote coves and beaches of the famous Lands End Peninsula, together with luxury accommodation, wonderful food, touches of culture and plenty of chances to sample English pubs at their best.

We make our base in the spectacular old fishing village of St Ives. Our logic is that this famous spot has too much to offer to be visited for just one night. By returning here each afternoon there is ample time to roam the streets and alleyways of this picturesque town. Visit the many art galleries such as:
•    The St Ives Tate Gallery www.tate.org.uk/stives
•    The Barbara Hepworth Gallery www.tate.org.uk/stives/hepworth
•    The Bernard Leech Pottery www.leachpottery.com
Each evening there are many and varied options for eating out: from seriously exclusive restaurants, through bistros and gastro-pub grub to fish and chips sitting on the harbour wall - all tastes and pockets are catered for in St Ives.

Whilst we do not walk very far each day there is a fair amount of upping and downing as we make our way westward towards Lands End. At the end of each day you are returned to the sanctuary and comfort of our specially selected accommodation in St Ives overlooking the sands of Porthminster Beach. Your accommodation has been selected especially to provide both a pampered retreat from the rigours of the day as well as a convenient stepping off point for the adventures of the evenings in St Ives.

Our route takes us from St Ives around the coast to Penzance through possibly the most remote and least visited part of Cornwall if not England. It is seldom visited not because of its lack of beauty but rather its remoteness. The only way to really see this part of Cornwall is on foot and that involves a degree of commitment that the average day tripper lacks. They are content to drive to Lands End, take their photos and head home. We are made of sterner stuff and so walk along the cliff tops and deserted coves and beaches, past the inland villages and disused tin and copper mines soaking up the scenery and the atmosphere.

Our itinerary also involves an early finish one day in Porthcurno in order to return to our hotel for a relaxing afternoon before getting ready for our evening visit to the Minak Theatre www.minak.com for our evening entertainment. After rounding Lands End we follow the South West Coast Path eastward and finish our walk on by walking from Lamorna Cove through the wonderful villages of Mousehole (pronounced ‘Mowzel') and Newlyn to arrive in Penzance with its views of St Michaels Mount www.stmichaelsmount.co.uk across the bay near Marazion.

This wonderful holiday is extremely limited as only 12 people can be accommodated. As many of you will know Cornwall in early summer is very popular and accommodation is tightly held with many of the choice establishments booked out over twelve months in advance. Only our relationship with our hotel allows us to offer this wonderful opportunity here in Australia.

So, if you want to be one of the lucky twelve people don't delay. Places will be allocated on a strictly first come first served basis.
