YOUR WALKS

Our specially designed tours are suitable for anyone in good health with an average fitness and well within reach of people who enjoy walking carrying only a small daypack to hold your lunch, drinks, camera, etc. We forward your overnight bag daily so it awaits you in the evening. Our walks average ten miles (16 km.) daily.

YOUR ACCOMMODATIONAccomodation
We stay mainly in traditional country inns with established reputations for warm hospitality and friendly service. Usually our accommodation is Three Crown commended by the English Tourist Board, mostly with ensuite facilities.  Occasionally for variety or because of availability, we may use hotels, guest houses or a farmhouse.

The small personalised group is restricted to twelve guests so to ensure your holiday please book early and avoid disappointment.

YOUR MEALS

Restaurant
A traditional full English breakfast is included in the price. We do not include the lunch or evening meal because we think you will enjoy the tour more having the flexibility to decide on the fare, venue and its timing in the evenings. Likewise the size and nature of your lunch pack is left to your choosing. (Allow a total of GBP £15/£20 or A$35/$50 per day for lunch and dinner, more if you eat a lot!).

In the evening, you may choose to eat in together with your hosts and fellow walkers, or at nearby inns or restaurants. When staying in isolated places, there is limited choice, but we will advise you as we go with full details on what is available.

GETTING THERE

Grassington, capital of
Upper Wharfedale has all facilities and both Grassington and Kettlewell are serviced with a regular bus from Skipton (which has the closest rail access).

Settle is well known for one of the world's great railways journeys, and the panoramic Settle/Carlisle line presents excellent access and egress.

Kirkby Stephen and St. Bees also have rail access and buses run regularly from
Robin Hoods Bay to Whitby and Scarborough.

Chipping Campden and Broadway are accessed by train and taxi or bus, and
Bath is well serviced with a centrally located Rail and Bus station.

We supply a transport sheet with your chosen tour.

YOUR HOSTS Hosts

Your hosts at 'WALK UK' are Michael and Leonie Dale who have significant walking experience both in England and at home in Australia where they have organised many long distance walks. Michael was born in England and Leonie is from Australia but lived, worked and walked in England for 5 years. They love the natural beauty of the Lakes, Dales & Moors and therefore selected them as the main venue for many of their special walks, but as Michael says "The Cotswolds are too good to miss!"

Most tours are led personally by Michael and Leonie who would welcome any comments or questions you may have on +61 (0)2 4757 1166.
